Stonebridge Estates – A Flooded Home Turned Dream Remodel

Full Home Remodel in Scripps Ranch, CA

After experiencing a second major flood from a failed water heater, the owners of this Stonebridge Estates home decided it was time for a full-scale renovation—not just to repair, but to create the home they’d always envisioned. The first step: relocating the water heater outdoors and upgrading to a tankless system, eliminating future risk and reclaiming valuable interior space.

From there, we reimagined the entire home—beginning with the kitchen. Working closely with the clients, we designed a chef-worthy space with commercial-grade appliances, a massive center island with a secondary prep sink, and double the original storage. By removing the soffit and utilizing the full height of the 9-foot ceilings, we extended custom cabinetry all the way up, creating a more expansive feel and refined look.

The kitchen features a custom hood vent, a statement backsplash, and layered lighting throughout: recessed cans, under-cabinet LEDs, and illuminated glass cabinets in the built-in buffet and bar—each on dimmers to shift the atmosphere from functional to ambient.

Beyond the kitchen, we opened up the floor plan by removing dated arches, added custom wainscoting in the family room, and built a sleek, integrated entertainment wall around a completely remodeled fireplace. Wide-plank European white oak flooring brings warmth and cohesion to the entire space.

Additional upgrades include electric window coverings, a new front door that transforms the entry, and the conversion of a powder room into a full bath—adding both practicality and long-term value.

What began as a flood recovery became a full transformation—turning a house with hidden potential into a home built for modern living, effortless entertaining, and lasting peace of mind.
